How much!!!! Terry's chocolate Orange

£3.80 for a Terry's Chocolate Orange in my local spar.
Can anyone beat this?
Shock! Store that sells low volume and relies on emergencies, impulse purchases and Polish beer to survive charges extra for inessentials! If they are not stiffing you on milk and bread, you should be happy.

The other lesson is: if you have a Terry's-Chocolate-Orange-monkey on your back, it's on a very short leash.

Orange oil is expensive at the moment thanks to the poor Brazilian crop last year so orange flavours, perfumes and orange oil derivatives are affected.

Never mind Terry's Chocolate Orange... I've become a bit of a fan of Nescafe Azera. I was paying £4 a tin at Sainsbury's, then I got two when they went down to £3 for a bit.

Just been to Tesco, a huge one mind, not a local... Five pounds and forty nine bleeding pence....?

Stuff that, I got a bit tin of Kenco Millicano instead.

Think it's time to get the cafetiere back out and try out some of Lidl's blends.

I liked them more before they switched Professor Yaffle on to Toffo production, but it takes all sorts, I guess.

It'll only be for a month, then it will be on offer for about £3.80 with a big sign claiming 30% off before going back to the regular price of £4

Have you not noticed what supermarkets do? Go to any section of the supermarket - say the crisps. Large bags of doritos and walkers etc retail for £2. Most of them will be £2, but there will be at least (usually just) one brand that is either 2 4 1 or half price or (ripoff!) 2 for £3.50. It cycles through the brands. Different supermarkets reduce different brands at different times, but they all do it.

So if you have a favourite product that shifts in price a lot, then the trick is to keep checking the price and buy a tin "before need" when it's reduced, visit a different supermarket (it's cheap at Asda atm, apparently) or do what you did and choose a different brand. But now you know the price fluctuates, you can check it when you visit the supermarket, and snap it up when it's a bargain.

I know how they operate (ramping up the price of a product for a fixed period then putting it back down to the regular price with a "reduced" sticker)... But I don't get my stuff in Tesco regularly so that just stopped me in my tracks.

Currently it's £4 in Sainsburys (which is the regular price in there, it has been £3 recently), £3 in Asda ("rolled back from £5.49", my aris), £5 in Waitrose, £4 in Morrisons ("offer price, regular price £5.50"), £3 on Ocado ("regular price £5.50").

Someone's taking the pish.
