actually the one in the picture looks pretty similar to any of the various "deal extreme" items from Honk Kong for about £40

tempting though it is to use on the bike, it's perhaps a bit much. It's a bit much underwater to be honest, but completely eliminated any torch envy I had previously
Better used on the bike, that way you don't suffer the disappointment when it's a salt encrusted ornament after a couple of years use :-)

apparently the switch does get salt encrusted - wasn't you describing same on the dive place was it?
It might melt used in air though

Nope, my wife dives (well, used to, is looking to get back in to it) and her and all of her friends take the same view of torch ownership, you don't own them for life, just rent them from the sea...

After buying an earlier (dive) torch, a friend said "I've got a spare handle if you ever need one". Took a while for the penny to drop - she only had handle which was clipped to her kit; the rest of the torch being with King Neptune.
