As the title, how`s it going sofar for those who are stopping till April 1st??

I stopped mid December and decided to do this myself, hopefully with a view to giving it up completely:thumbsup:

This is much to the disgust of my friends and work colleagues who now class me as a boring b*stard, but I do enjoy the smug feeling I get when any of them have hangovers, worth the insults hands down:laugh::blush::laugh:!!

I don't drink at home now.I haven't visited a pub in Britain for years apart from when I went to a funeral...drank last New Years Eve (at home) and will only drink when I go on holiday if I feel I want to.

I started on Dec 2008 after beecoming quite ill and run dow.
Haven't touched it since New Years Eve.

I feel fitter and healthier....2009 was a particulary horrendous year commuting health wise....2010 has been better.

Happier but tend to drink tea all night and sleep much better.Im chuffed and wish I had done this earler.

Good on you;)

It does make you feel much fitter and healthier, I`ve noticed that after only 3 or 4 weeks

It's taken me just over a year...but those people in "commuting" must remember when I said I was really struggling on my commute and wasn't enjoying my cycling. This year has been different.

I thought my cycling career was coming to an end because I was having real trouble coping with my tiredness and run down condition.

At the time I was coughing a lot and every commute felt like a ten mile uphill commute.I even remmember being sick as well sometimes on my commutes.
I remember the early days of climbing Waterloo Bridge from south to north half killed me and I really struggled.

I am not on the three month ban, but I did stop drinking completely at the end of September and I feel much better for it and as has been mentioned, feel a bit smug when my pals have hangovers and I don't

One thing I have noticed is I sleep so much better :o) now

Intersting to read how everyone is getting on with the ban that is on it

Alot of my friends question "why"? But I just wanted to nothing more to it than that

Into week two now. 6.00pm - 7.00pm is the hardest part, but after it passes it doesn't matter so much. Still not getting off to sleep too well.

I don't get that "feeling smug when you haven't got a hangover" thing. At least with a hangover you feel better and better as the day progresses.
