Recently on my nightly 15 miler a member of the bird of prey family has taken to swooping (and at times hitting) my cycle helmet !!!! It seems more evident when I am wearing my blue/black gilet on top of bright yellow L/S cycle jersey.
I must say that the bird is very brave because I am no small rodent being 6ft and 16st but he/she does have the benifit of sharp claws and being able to fly.

Is there something I can put on my helmet/jacket to ward it off? or will I just have to change my route

cheers

I think Buzzards have been known to do this. They are a big ol bird 'n' all, wouldn't want a talon stuck in the back of your head, thats for sure.

That BBC article is proof that helmets do their job.

Now...where are those helmet haters?

Aye - if he was wearing one, he'd not have those scars would he?

(Tongue in cheek - don't start a helmet thread).

Did you watch the videos? If he wasn't wearing one (or had a wig over it) he wouldn't have been attacked in the first place...
