How to convince a work place to install showers/dryroom/storage

It all depends on the size of company and what they deem to be 'costly'.
Whilst the cost of the 'equipment' in terms of a portacabin is low, I agree that the cost of installation could be high. You would then need to be sure that it is maintained properly and believe me that this is another problem all together.
In my opinion, as a Company Director, you need to get someone senior on your side. The benefits as mentioned by Tony are very good and worth promoting in any company.
But in my opinion I would also look at what is likely to be a lower cost addition of a shower in existing toilet facilities. Or adjacent to existing toilet facilities. Perhaps the 'cyclists' and 'runners' amongst you are or have experience at building these sort of things. Or you have a friendly family member who could help out. This way the company is only providing the space and hardware.
If I was to look at this as a project, the first thing I would do is look at the logistics of installing internally. Then arrange a meeting of all the 'healthy' types in the company to work out how you could find 'lower' costs ways of implementing it. Do this planning correctly and if your company has the budget, you might find yourself in a good position to get this done and as a by product be watched for future promotion!

Our place has 42 massive, individual places for the exclusive use of people who decide to to drive to work, plus a large specially hardcored and compacted 'overspill area', which is in regular use. Which I believe wasn't mentioned in our 'travel plan'...
We have 1 shower, for the use of everyone.
Theres a large contingent who use the bus - the nearest bus stop is about half a mile away.
There's nice woods at the back that provide a nice route for some to MTB or run to and from work.
Its not like the cars and bikes are the only way to travel and the facilities that could be provided for cyclists don't need to be limited to cyclists, apart from bike storage itself?
Quite often its not cost, but a predisposition on the part of management to make decisions in preference to the car. Its seen all over this site/forum, when people put up pictures and descriptions of farcilities, the decisions being made by people who have no idea of the requirement and no interest in even asking the end user what they want or would use. Thats why wheelbenders get installed and ignored.
Unless you've done a design and build project, you've probably taken a property spec built by a developer. Car spaces come with the territory and are required by planning law albeit in smaller numbers than they used to be. Green travel initiatives and so on all contribute to BREEAM ratings but they'll only do the bare minimum.

The cost of these facilities should be more than paid for in gained work days. Thanks mainly to my cycling, I've taken only 2 (I think) sick days in 4 years, and so the gained productivity from that is significant. If, for example, I would normally take 5 days sick leave per year, then that's a whole week's worth of zero-productivity salary I've saved the company. Now, if only they would recognise this, and start giving me tax breaks or other perks...

2 grand is bloopy cheap for a shower set up as described
We have a relatively new police station, 3 decent showers, changing rooms etc .... I have been asking for months for shower mats or the wooden slats to stand on when I get out the shower to stop myself from breaking my neck..... Still waiting. !! So good luck with getting the showers lol

Could buy a rubber mat yourself if you are using the facilities every day ?
Showers !! disabled toilets and a baby wipe down is all I get.
