Indeed! How the other half lives! But the three women featured definitely made it all seem doable. As one of my bikes is a Dutch bike, it is possible for me to cycle in my work clothes but it is hard not to get warm over an eleven mile commute that involves steep hills. Now that the evenings are lengthening I will probably do a couple of cycling commutes a week.

'My bike weighs 4.5kg'. Wow! wonder what it is?

Hmm slight exaggeration there. You'd probably get a pro road bike down to 6kg's fairly easily (6.8 is the limit) -the only 4.5kg one I've heard of was a stupidly expensive one done by a cycle nut - PS she doesn't was it though...

Ah, useful everyday cycling tips for the average woman. Or ... grow it long, roll it up and clip it at the back of the neck. Won't need brushing all day and save loads of money in haircuts. I have been known to cycle the 4 miles flat / downhill to work on a dutch style bike in office clothes. The hi-viz tends to take the edge off the chic though.

At least it shows that 3 women have found ways to commute to work and then look smart. My work gear is casual anyway, but I'm still struggling with the cycling when going out looking smarter at the other end. Some skirts I can do by rolling them up a bit at the waist to make them shorter.
