I used to do that when I was at school - roll my skirt up to make it shorter after I had left the house!!!

I second the top tip on growing hair long. Helmet hair is really not a good look and the only way to get around it is to pin it up I reckon - unless you have helmet proof hair and that I haven't managed to get yet.

Seriously though this article made me a bit ashamed to be a woman - "my bike is a bit big for me but I like that?" "It's the ultimate accessory?!"

They are a bit fluffy for me!

... AND that road bike they show has got no mudguards or anything - when I used to cycle to work on a bike with no mudguards I used to get road muck all up my face and my back and my arse used to get so wet I used to have to bring a spare pair of knickers to change into at work!

I reckon we have some fair weather cyclists here!!

(... either that or I am just jealous 'cos I don't manage to look like that after my commute!!! ;))

mmm 4.5kg bike that she rides along towpaths.

I must say, I am now looking for a Vivienne Westwood 3/4 length coat rather than the waste of time Endura Air Defence jacket I have....

they wanna try cycling for real. my commute is 17 miles and about to turn into 23 miles. i'd like to see them be so chic on a quick wipe down after that distance. I think nothing less than a shower and a locker full of make up/hair stuff and clothes will do for me!

"a pair of jogging bottoms I’ve had for 10 years that have lost all their stretch, an old T-shirt and a big puffa jacket"

All that cash on a hand built 4.5kg bike and she's essentially wearing a parachute?

'TheTimes' discovers the awesome power of geting changed shock horror!

And there was me thinking I wasn't allowed to remove my lycra ever. Which explains why it hums a bit, after wearing it continually (yes, the same shorts) since I was 15.

OMFG...

Mind you ,I have found a relatively inexpensive bike wighing about 5 kg! That's the good news. The bad news is - it's one of these...
