Make him think his pen-pushing is worthless and just wasting his time.

This where you go wrong FP. We already know our pen pushing is a waste of time. However once a cop has decided to issue a ticket there is only one thing that will save you. Something more juicy happening close by.

Just to add. FPNs (fixed Penalty Notice) are now being looked at as performance indicators in my force..so it's zero tolerance (well at least I've banked enough to keep the boss happy)

Much better to never get in the situation in the first place! The last time i spoke to a policeman was back in 1988, that was for doing 36mph in a 30mph zone ... on a Honda C50.
