How about some profound AC/DC lyrics?

Yeah, like:-

She's got the jack, she's got the jack
She's got the jack, she's got the jack
She's got the jack, she's got the jack
She's got the jack, she's got the jack
She's got the jack, jack, jack, jack, jack, jack, jack
She's got the jack

and then a nice detailed tat

Despite @Dayvo's best efforts to stop the thread dead with a pic of his genital area xx(...

I have just sent off a query to a tattoo studio in Edinburgh, outlining my idea...so that'll be me one step nearer.

Personally I think tattoos are great but you really do need to think about what you want and I agree with @windym haveing names is silly i do have my kids names but i would never get or encorage anyone to get a partners name as you never know what will happen in 10 years time and partners can come and go but your kids will always be your kids. I do have a tattoo for my ex wife but its a picture of a whight dove rather than a name easier to explain to a new girlfriend a picture than trying to explain a name lol. So far I have around 40 or so tattoos some are on there own and others are grouped together making a larger image. But everyone of the designs I spent many hours thinking them threw and altering the design so each one is a one off original and every tattoo has its own meaning and memory to me I suppose its my way of rembering people and things that have influenced my life. When your looking at designs consider where you want it if its for an arm don't look at big square designs as they won't fit and will look silly. Once you know what and where you want it then look for a tattooist who is well knowen and recomended . some tattooist's will give you a discount if you let them keep your design of course that only works if its a good design both the tattoos that someone else did for me I sold them the design with a few minor alterations to keep my tattoos original. The rest of my tattoos I not only designed but also tattooed onto myself saves a lot of money but you need to know what your doing lol

I havenae heard back from the tattoo studio yet - which is a bit disappointing as it's been 2 days since I sent them a message via their webpage. I'll give them til the middle of next week to reply then give them a call to tell them that their customer service is crap find out what is happening - I spotted that the owner has been off on holiday for a month and has just returned to the studio earlier this week so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for them to catch up on stuff.

It took me about twenty years between deciding to have a tattoo and then actually having one and then all of a week after that to decide I will definitely get another. The whole process is really quite exhilarating; from choosing the artist through settling on a design and on to the actual process itself. As for the "pain"... I enjoyed it - it is reminiscent of acupuncture and oddly relaxing.

In choosing the artist, a long waiting list is a good sign! And next time you see work that you like on someone else don't be shy about asking who did it.

I was quite prescriptive with my first design and that's probably how most people are but in future I'll give the artist much more free rein (obviously reserving the final veto).

Enjoy your first tattoo, @Marmion . I'm jealous
