Just set up an ad hoc computer to computer wireless network on your pc, assuming it has Wifi on it. You can find details of how to do it with an iPhone here but other smartphones are similar setups.

In that case don't forget to set up wireless security and if you can restrict access to registered MAC addresses or the whol street will be camping on your connection :hello:

Fun thing you can do with unsecured wifi.
1). Connect to a shared printer on the network and print "I must secure this network" a few times on the printer
2). Connect to the router and if the default password has not been changed. Change the SSID, set a WPA key and change the login password.

The Communications Act 2003 says a "person who (a) dishonestly obtains an electronic communications service, and (b) does so with intent to avoid payment of a charge applicable to the provision of that service, is guilty of an offence".

The trouble with 2) is that if they are that much of a numpty that they have their wifi unsecured, they will probably just think their router has broken, throw it out and buy a new one if you do that.

Or call the ISPs tech support and be told how to press the factory reset button!

You have no sense of fun
The intent would be to educate someone in a firm way. If someone were to dishonestly connect and use that network to download very naughty stuff, then it could get the owner in trouble.

Very High, if the have a network printer, and most hp ink jets have wifi networking and they just use the wizard for setting it up, it's shared. And if they have plugged a printer into the pc that's running xp, you can make it shared by remotely editing the registry. If the pc is in a workgroup and is sharing the printer, the whole of the c drive is shared using the hidden share of c$. Hours of fun changing the hosts file to redirect google to the BBC news page or any other site you like.

If you have a wireless router please use WPA not WEP. As WEP can be broken in a few hours
