I know a friend got point from speeding in Australia, and I also know people got banned from driving in UK due to speeding and other offences to do with driving in Europe. The law is the law, if you break it in one country you are liable unless you hide yourself in China/Russia/Cuba or any other country that doesn't have a completely transparent legal system or with no international regards.

Except that the law varies from country to country, even within the EU. So if you were to get done for drink driving in Norway or Sweden, where the limit is about one quarter that of the UK, do you think you would be banned from driving in the UK? The answer is - you wouldn't be banned in the UK.

Re your friend who got speeding points in Australia; did he have an Australian licence? Or did they do the same as would happen here - and have a phantom record created by the Aussie licensing authority? There is no way that points from a foreign country can have any meaning in a British court.

You say whatever you believes, i have real life hard facts which i believe to be TRUE.

Anyway, the tour operator has a 4 day coach tour in London on a weekly basis. If this idiot driving a 10ton coach on London roads, during all hours of the day. I certainly would like to see something done about him. THAT IS THE POINT not the point if or not he/she lives in another country etc, that's upto the police and their tenacity.

to be very honest, to all the "WISE MEN" on this forum. look at the title of the thread. it reads "HOW TO REPORT TO POLICE" not how to p1ss on other people's thread and trash talk! the issue of he is in another country is completely off the topic, so don't bother with it any more

Errrrm; it was YOU who derailed your own thread in post #4 .....................

well, we would do them for a fine and points in this country and surely the license penalty and financial penalty will carry over to european countries as Belgium is still EU. People get caught in Australia for speeding etc they still get points on UK licenses.

I think i need the police details as opposed to roadsafe. I am not sure if it is Met or Transport Police

And just being my usual helpful self; it's the Met Police you want. The Transport Police only deal with matters on the railway. Unless you meant Traffic Police, which will be a department within the Met, or any other force. HTH. ;)

I suspect I would just roadsafe this incident, btw. I might also go on social media to share the video about. Having not seen the video, I'm not sure it's worth the extended time to report it in person at a police station. Roadsafe do sometimes choose to prosecute the more serious incidents.

I'm not sure I would call that nearly killing a cyclist. The coach was never less than 10ft away from that cyclist from the looks of the video.
It certainly looks like he went through the red light but note we don't see the light facing him at any point and that is the important one.

You should be careful about 'chasing' down drivers. Visiting them the next day and talking to them isn't a good idea, not only for your safety but it also looks kind of weird that you are doing it. Your motive could come across as questionable. Just report it to the police and let them deal with it, if you think you know where they are staying, inform the police with that information.

Yeah, it's hard to tell exactly how much red light was jumped here as we can't see his light, nor how far into the junction he was when it changed. I don't think he was all that close to the other cyclists either.

It looks to me like he was already in the junction when the lights changed. He may even have been hampered by the pillock on the bike who went on the offside of the bollards in order to RLJ into his path.

As for "nearly killing" a cyclist, well, "some cows are small, and some cows are far way." springs to mind.

It's quite easy to think someone turning right is jumping a red light when they've been waiting in the junction with their wheels over the line on green, the light changes, some other oncoming vehicles stop you turning right immediately, and then when you do go there's rage from drivers on the road you're turning into. Having said that, this coach looks to me at least rather pushy with his right turn, and quite possibly a full on red light jump.
