I'm here in Cyprus waiting on a bike I've booked which should have arrived at 8am and its now nearly 10am and no bike! No answer from his office phone either. And even if he turned up right now it would take me an hour to customise it (you know, lolly ice sticks in the spokes to impress the birds down the swings) and it will be uncomfortably hot by midday! I'm so annoyed at this as I've rented from them twice before with no problems but they've let me down here.

Cracking a solo.
Not too tricky if you're prepared to make the effort

Did it turn up in the end ?
Eventually but it was five hours late! And then the manager of the hotel actually tried to stop me taking it to my room to customise it! That boiled my urine and I informed him as much, the cheeky get. That turned into a right stand off and put the tin lid on this wondrous day. As you might imagine.

What's up with customizing in the car park?
Nice try but that's not a serious question, is it? For one thing, this is the twelfth time we've stayed in this chain of hotels (the same one twice before) and the bike's (whether hired or my own brought over) always been welcomed and now, with no notification and presumably on the foibles of some lardy jobsworth, bikes aren't allowed in rooms! I very much doubt they would willingly lose our loyalty on a silly whim like this. Right now, the bike IS in my room and unless I'm out riding it, this is where it shall remain until we go home.

It was a serious question - if you were only customizing. But now I think I detect that security is your concern. Right?

I would've thought it was more practical to customise it in the carpark or similar outdoor space, rather than in a hotel bedroom.
I don't tinker with my bikes in the house.
Anyway, I'm sorry your day's plans were spoiled, but sounds like you've got the bike for a while so hopefully you'll enjoy the rest of your holiday.
