Internet shopping for bike kit is evil!

The online shops have so much choice and prices too good to refuse. All this can lead to a 'habit' forming.

Cycling is a world that has no limits; there is always something on the shopping list, upgrades to be made and worn out parts to replace. Factor in running 3 bikes and it's a full time job.

I spend more than I should on my habit, and the wife can't understand why parcels arrive with predictable frequency, nor is she too pleased.

How can I get clean? I've been chasing the dragon for too long.

Its all about needs and wants!

Adopt a policy to only buy from your LBS!

That way you don't just go online and drool over the next purchase, plus you are supporting your local retailer.

Yes it's often more expensive but that's the point, less likely to buy things you think you want but actually might not need!

Either that or harden the f••k up and learn to say no!

Buying from LBS would certianly solve the problem as they are crap.

To be fair, I'm not just ramdomly buying shoot which my OP might have implied; it was intended as more of a joke, but with an element of truth running through it.
The answer is to get everything shipped to work.

If she asks, claim that you've had it for ages.
The 'I've had it for ages' line along with 'I showed you when it first came and you liked it' lines are virtually fail safe. After all, who wants to admit they don't remember having such a conversation ^_^

i know how to stop the habit instantly - i thought i really really needed a power meter so i could work in amps instead of heart beats . its a good thing i wasn't plugged into heart monitor when i saw the prices else i would have been needing a new one of them instead ! i have been clean for 2 weeks now . as for buying team jerseys from china - dont . i did , it may pass for decent from a way off but terrible material and zip doesn't fill you with confidence either - but it has lasted so far and is ok in summer as a ultra ultra thin top , think you only get what you pay for - theres some nice ones on ebay at mo argh i am weak
