For those that took the 3 month pledge, how's it going?

I'm still clean, but it's a bit of a struggle every evening especially when I come through the door. Suffering a bit of insomnia too. Otherwise I'm OK, I think I feel better, certainly less muzzy in the mornings even with the lack of sleep. Thursday's pub night... I may or may-not go, it's too early for a test. We're entertaining at home on Friday evening and going to have to get some lip-smacking alternative drinks to survive!

How's yous guys doin'?

Hey FF !!
Not too bad, sleeping ok, but think that might be down to 27 very hard, cold miles for the last 2 days.
Finding eight o'clock tricky to break as that's when the cork normally comes out.
Got a gig in a couple of weeks, haven't done one sober since i was a teenager so that'll be interesting.

Good luck all !

I walked into town this afternoon to get a few groceries, right as the snow decided to hurl itself down. After an hour of walking in it I was totally soaked...and was very tempted to nip into a pub on the way back for a pint and a sit down...but I didn't, so not a drop of booze has passed my lips since I began this on the 1st

Have my orange squash in front of me, about to cook my dinner and wash it down with a couple of cups of tea. It does help that there is no alcohol in the house though

I had trouble sleeping last night, and did have a brewski craving tonight after i got in. I'm drinking a lot more tea which might explain the insomnia, but we've also treated ourselves to cartons of posh fruit juice too. Doesn't matter though - a carton costs the same as a bottle of Leffe, so who cares?

Early days I know, but so far so good.

Tea is not so good for the insomnia but then again your bodies are adjusting so give them a chance.

When I get that eerie feeling that trying to go sleep just isn't going to happen I go for a 'hell for leather' sprint on the bike, get the heart going and some fresh air then come back for a bath or shower. That usually works.

Keep up the good work guys and give yourselves a pat on the back!

Well done you lot! Funnily enough I've a craving for real coffee in the evenings, something we've not had for years. I think it's a taste complexity thing maybe.

Hey Tdrinka, when I can't sleep, I get-up and make a sweet cuppa and I find the sugar rush pitches me into the land of nod!

Phump, I've gotta housefull of beer, some wine and a very nice single malt... I'm hoping they mature!

Keep it up!

Maybe milky cocoa would be a good alternative? It usually makes me sleepy, but I don't make a habit of it.

Another option is warm milk with honey or hazlenut syrup instead of tea after 6pm? Keep going guys!

No worries for me at all.

But then I dislocated my knee on monday, and the painkillers are better than booze anyway:tongue:
