Pretty good. It's the first year that I've really got into road riding after getting a road bike at the end of 2010.

Did my first sportive (62 Miles Bay Dash on Wrynose or Bust)
First 100 miles on the Lancashire Loop (also raised some dosh for charidee)
Commuted my 48 mile round trip regularly over the warmer months
Hopefully going to end it with success on Strava's Festive 500 challenge.

Worst year of cycling since 1983. Bollock op in May and I've done less than 100 miles since then. I don't give a shoot about anything else, I just want to ride my bike. I'm seeing a consultant in Feb, if I'm lucky I'll get an operation before next May. It sucks. Made worse by the fact that my job is working with bicycles - I'm surrounded by the ***** all day long!

Due to having our first child, i too have had not been out on the bike as much as i would have liked, even commuting has been tough - the lure of an extra hour in bed was too strong and the car has been used far to many times. The latter half of the year has been much improved though. I reckon i've done twice the miles i did last year!
First forum ride in December was a great day out - many more this year me thinks.
I got myself a new bike and have done maintenance i wouldn't have dreamed of last year, including a bottom bracket change - YouTube is my friend!
Onwards and upwards for 2013 - i'm aiming for 5000 miles, a sportive or two and my first century. And of course there's n+1......

Should break my 10,000 km target this evening, being off the bike for two weeks due to illness then on the bike still ill for another two weeks made my target more of a challenge with only a couple of weeks to go^_^

Only managed 104km of leisure riding this year:blush: , so an area that requires a big improvement for 2013:thumbsup: .

best described as not quite gone to plan. (need a smilie with a dog chasing a bike...)

Round the world tour aborted after 50 weeks & 8,700 miles.. that was February. I/we should have cycled to NZ by now in time for my 40th birthday instead I get to be in a very wet cheshire with a bad leg, still receiving physio with a big scar to show for it and learning spanish in a hope to keep the 'plans' alive

On the brighter side of things, I can still cycle, can walk (just not far), have made my target for cycling 'rehab' for this year and need to consider what next year's rehab target will be (other than getting back out on a tour)... and have some fantastic memories and photos.

Added a Triban 3 & Specialized Rockhopper to the Thorn Nomad MK II on the bike front but still only have 1 set of trousers & 2 T shirts to my name!

This year has probably been my best cycling year to date! Despite a rocky start, i.e. no cycling for the 1st 7 months of the year (due to reasons I don't even understand myself, "lack of motivation" being a convenient way to put it) I have done quite well for myself IMO.

In mileage terms (not something that interests me much tbh) I have covered a fair few miles in the latter 5 months of the year, on average about 800 miles per month. With regards to individual rides, I did my 1st 100 miler (at a 19 mph moving average), with the CC crowd for company on the Manchester 100, clocking about 112 mile in total that day, I subsequently completed my 1st double metric ride, clocking 150 miles in total on that day (and finding it rather easy, other than my back aching toward the end).

The best aspect of my cycling year has been joining a club for sure, I have met loads of great people, made some good friends who are very encouraging and I credit them greatly with what I consider to be a substantial transformation in myself as a cyclist.

Also managed to get a few races in toward the end of the season, a few Hill climbs and time trials, no amazing results to talk about but competent performances in most cases.

Started off well but stuff got in the way and it's been patchy to say the least. Done all of 30 odd miles in the past 8 weeks.
All in all..............sh..

 Seriously all my fears rolled in to one post, not cycling now would do my head in let alone combining it with health problems. I really genuinely hope 2013 is a much better year for you, both cycling and well being.

My cycling year has been great, enjoyed every minute even the tough shoot rides, the latter are only enjoyed once you have the satisfaction of the finish..

First full year after starting to cycle and drawing OAP. Completed 4000 mile target; my first 100 mile ride (an Audax); a couple of Sportives, one of which was a 100 miler; recently completed two back to back 100K rides, as preliminary to preparing for a JOGLE next spring; bought second bike ready for JOGLE. Exceedingly lucky I have the health and time to do it.

Been awesome. Sold the motorbike last January, and spent about £4.5k on bikes/gear since then. But I've commuted 100% covering 1860ish miles in 333 rides.

I've lost 3 stone in the last year, covered just over 4200 miles. I completed 1 sportive, a charity century, where i raised over £600 for macmillan and joined a club where I've met some amazing friends. My fitness has leapt forward, coming from struggling to do 30 miles to doing 60's and 70's every weekend (mostly).

I think I've learned more about myself in those 276 hours on the bike than I've learned in many years before them. I never imagined that I could push myself like I have, endure those 'black moments' or get so much joy from dealing with it.

Looking forward I'm terribly excited about becoming a dad in the next 5 weeks, and imagining all the triumphs and tribulations that 2013 will bring me on 2 wheels...

... All assuming the world doesn't end tomorrow of course.
