Hoy! What's that building over there?

I was in Stratford a couple of weeks ago and I thought I'd have a look at the velodrome while I was there - but I kept on cycling into worksites and the area's surrounded by some pretty unfriendly roads for cycling and never managed to get a look at it. Is there anybody with local knowledge who can recommend a good vantage point?

I had a look from the view tube a while ago - last summer? - but couldn't see it then. From what I've seen on diagrams the velodrome appears to be to the NW of the main stadium so it's likely to be hidden behind that when viewed from that angle.

I am a bit worried about how it will look in a few years time. Many buildings today are made to look good new but go tatty. I prefer the ones that look better after 100 years

That is oh so true OTH. But, at all costs avoid the dross that is 'designed' to look 100 years old 'off plan'. <Cue Charles and Quinlanita Terry, looking for a pied a terre main entre les jambes...>

it is behind the stadium , and the basketball tent arena. looking from the view tube.

I played with google maps but it wouldn't do what i wanted it to so i will have to have a look in the daylight later and see where is best.

failing that you can book a tour of the park by bus.
