One thing that will really bug me by the end of the winter is the windscreen wiper that flicks across my screen when I unlock it, indicating that it is raining outside. I expect, living in Glasgow, I will be seeing that every day!:smile:

Yep, it'll be a good few months before you see the Sense UI's 'shafts of sunlight' animation!

When I got mine I found if you just have patience you get what you want. I wanted it and it happened to be around Christmas time so they were in no mood for discounting it; although I managed to get lots of discounts on about 50 other phones I didn't really want but had looked at.

Eventually turned up on their website and found the plans they now offered were identical to what I asked for so bought it straight away.

300 mins, unlim text and internet for £15. HTC Touch2.

Can't afford one.

Ooops sorry im at it again.

Can't you save up for one?

I have a Sony k800i and it's seems sufficient for what I use it for.A glorified alarm clock.

Phones turn me on even less now.Had a person walking on the pavement staring at his as he walked towards me.He eventually realised I was there as he almost walked into me.

I'd like one but can't justify the cost of the monthly subscription when I only top up my Tesco PAYG about £10 every 2 -3 months

I'm not into phones as such because I don't like being distracted by calls and texts. I have a very cheap PAYG mobile which I too use as an alarm clock, and only (reluctantly) use it as a phone when travelling or when on group rides. I don't normally carry it when walking, or riding solo.

I'd want a smartphone for mobile internet access if and when my finances picked up and I could afford to do more travelling. If could afford to travel, I could afford to buy the phone! I would be earning that money from various online activities and I'd need to keep an eye on them when I was away from home. My laptop is pretty small, but it is still a bit too large to lug about on a bike - I like to travel light.

Ideally that phone would take good enough photos and videos to use on my websites so I wouldn't have to carry so much stuff with me.

I'd also like to try developing the odd application for smartphones so I really ought to have one myself!

I'm like potsy - I currently just buy a £5 top-up every 4-6 weeks.

Ditto but im paying £15 for Pay and Go infinite texts and web.Looks like im not getting a very good deal from O2 as I rarely text now and only use web when checking train times and availability.I make very few calls also.Seems to me these phones are for people who are bored and need a toy to play with.

I think it's seeing how other people behave with their phones really puts me off so im not really into them.
I can't really see a use for a phone like an IPhone as when im out I don't particularly want to be surfing the web.

I hear what your saying about the costs, but due to my work (and possible changes to it) I need to keep in touch with e-mail etc, and I do use the internet on my phone a fair bit. So for me £25 a month is pretty good for a phone I will make a lot of use of.

Using it for a few days now, it is very, very good. The internet is really amazing, and I find at home, rather than fire the laptop up for a bit of browsing, I'd rather use the phone. It's just big enough to become really useful, almost like a small tablet. I've also noticed that downloads are faster than on my Magic.

It seems very fast, it's got some excellent features, and it even makes phone calls!:biggrin:

The only downside seems to be the battery life, which isn't brilliant, however, for me it isn't much of an issue. I can keep it topped up at work, and if going anywhere for a day, I can always take my battery extender (a USB power pack).

Do I need one? I'm thinking I do. I'm fairly tired of the problems with my iPhone and am keen to try an android system.
I take it you'd recommend it?

At the moment I certainly would. As I say, battery life isn't the best (although it's still new and may improve), but apart from that it's great.

Just be aware it is quite big. I like that, some might not.

Android is brilliant, and I am impressed with the HTC Sense version of it. In fact HTC have over the last week updated the software on this phone twice! Some might say that they should have had any bugs fixed before shipping, but two updates in a week shows some commitment!

I have an HTC Desire. Is good!

HOWEVER ...

My contract ran out and I just got myself a ... duh duh duh duuuuhhh! Nokia N8!

Wait ... what? Why the quizzical, sneering faces?

Yes it got terrible reviews, yes it's no where near as smooth, functional and well behaved as the Desire.

But I like it anyway  It has a certain ... charm.

Your not the only one. I have ordered a Nokia N8, i looked at the HTC, Blackberry & iphone (yes i'd love to pay £100 on top of my monthly payment...) but decided on the Nokia. You cant go wrong with a Nokia in my eyes. My last phone was a Sony Xperia, what a load of rubbish, i'll never use Sony again, or Samsung for that matter.

I've currently got a HTC Desire, and will definitely upgrade to a Desire HD when my contract is up in Jan (unless an even better one comes along)

Can I recommend Endomondo again? It's a fab app.
