Hi All,

With thanks to Shaun for granting permission for me to post this, I wanted to let people know about a new event for overland adventure cyclists (as well as motorcyclists and drivers of expedition vehicles) called the HUBB UK.

It's a re-invention of an event that's been run in the UK by Horizons Unlimited for the past 12 years, and was officially launched this morning.

The event is taking place from Thursday 30th May to Sunday 2nd June 2013 at Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel next to the famous Donington Park Racing Circuit in Leicestershire.

Full details can be found on the event page here.

Iain this is interesting. Is this meeting in addition to the Derbyshire meeting or in place of.

Six weeks on from the launch of the HUBB UK event, here's another quick update...

Trans-Americas cyclist Jon Slade will be giving a presentation about his journey, along with Ian MacNab from the event sponsors Adventure-Spec.com. Ian will be hosting an adventure cycling clinic and giving his expert advice on ride-choice, equipment and travelling light.

Cycling World magazine will be there and there's going to be a screening of Tom Allen's stunning new film "Janapar" in the 300-seat marquee cinema.

The lowest rate of £45 per person for the 4-day event applies until 31st October, so if you're hoping to be there now's the time to pre-register.

All the event info is at www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubbuk

Hope to see you there Isla.

Since my last update, the list of cycling presenters has grown again. We now also have Mike Carter (Guardian journalist and author of "One Man and His Bike"), Anna McNuff (who'll be cycling around the US next year) and the irrepressible Danny Bent who's cycled to India.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 31st October) is the last day to pre-register at the £45 rate. All the info is here.
