I dont really do waterproof gear on Chitty (apart form a jacket) as it all ends up wet inside either way ...and skin drys pretty quick in comparrison to fabric. But, I recently bought a big stack of waterproof gear for the motorbike. The first Sunday that it rained really bad, I was out riding around Chislehurst like a schoolboy in his new uniform.

I loved it...it was great fun being out in the elements and staying totally dry.

PS, if we think we have it bad on bikes, you can triple the cost of any gear for motorcycling

Ah yes, I'm a biker too, but I have to admit that I use the (motor)bike pretty much purly as "pleasure transport" these days, and hardly ever go out on it in the wet, although having recently spent over £400 on a jacket for the motorbike, I'm with you on the gear cost!

I'm amusing myself this afternoon by checking in from time to time on the Met Office's Rainfall Radar and wondering if that big old band of rain is gonna make it across the Country in time for me going home.

Just had a nice soaking on my way home from a pleasant visit to the old homeland on the Isle of Bute. Strong headwind and chucking it down for 6.5 miles, lovely .

Mrs TF has now got some waterproof trousersjust in case her commute turns really nasty, 'course it would have to be bad....... Just looked out the window from my cosy home office and it's sheeting it down with the added bonus of gale force wind, If I turn the other way I can see a nice new pair of ..........waterproof trousers. Going to be a difficult evening..
