Estimates of damage have been as high as £4.76.

OK, it's an oldie, but a goody. What is interesting though is how quickly this storm has been nicknamed "Hurricane Bawbag". That's now its (unofficial) name. Someone apparently tweeted the name earlier today and then the cyber viral thing happened.

What is a bawbag?
I was watching an episode of the latest excellent series of Rab C and he went into a school. He said to the kids "Do yaes wantae do Geography or listen tae a bawbag like me?"
to which the class replied in dreary unison "Listen tae a bawbag like you".

I drove from Milton keynes to govan today, Blimey, it was eventful.

looked like govan was getting blown away at one point.

I know there the age old joke above, but from an outsider, you have some great buildings. I hope you get behind a project to refurb a fantastic building right on the docks, fairfield I think its called, right on the ship yard.

I've been howling at the whole 'hurricane bawbag' thing for much of the day but am also glad that I'm not amongst it and hope that everyone back home is safe and ok. I've spoken to my mother a couple of times today and it sounds pretty scary up there.
