To be honest it was nothing more than a good drying day, I got through a pile of washing.

I popped out for a ride with a mate today and expected to see a lot of damage due to Hurricane Bawbag but other than a few twigs down there was nothing, until we crossed over the Clackmannan Bridge access road there was a box van blown completely off the road, I wouldn't have like to be the person in that upside down box

I think for the most part we were pretty lucky with the fairly minimal amount of damage the wind caused. But like Mozzy says, it may not be quite over just yet. Not sure about anywhere else, but XC Weather forecast for Glasgow shows gusts of 60mph on Tuesday, and 70mph on Friday.

That's because it will be expensive. Building further south aren't built to withstand the sorts of winds that are common in Scotland - and there are more of them, and they're bigger and more expensive. A shock to the economy is exactly what we could do without at the moment.

Nah, 200 miles south of Scotland is still only in The North. We'll cope. London need never know...

I'm not sure the south will get away so lightly next week. There is a yellow warning out for Tuesday for the southern half of the UK but the really interesting storm is due on Friday. Central pressure below 950mb, gusts 90-100mph possible, if it tracks further south than currently forecast it could be a repeat of the Burns day storm 1990.

My back fence got damaged in the strong winds last Thursday and am having to dismantle it today as it is posing a threat to the neighbours car.
