Man when are these winds going to ease off, its like cycling into a brick wall. I am only managing average speeds of 10-12mph when I am normally doing anywhere from 13-15mph, I cant even get above 25mph down hill with the wind. [/rant]

There has been little wind in my part of Britain this winter.
Although temperatures have been low there were lots of calm bright days and little rain making for a pleasant winter...so far.

It was similar the winter before last where it was pretty cold but calm and then it warms up in late feb/early March and whoosh along come the winds.

Been 10-20mph up here in the hills with much stronger gusts for the best part of a fortnight. Be nice just to have hills to contend with when it settles down a bit!

This last week has just felt like one big wall, every day, morning and night.

Worst day constant 26mph gusting 43mph

Was coming down a hill that I normally hit 35-37mph on and was struggling to get 25mph, I thought, its ok, I will FLY down it tonight (Its like a vally type up and down hill), by the time I left work, the wind had changed again GRRRRR

the wind is bad here to manchester as well. but tbh as long as i don't keep getting caught in the torrential downpours of head hurting hailstones and flash road floods i'll be happier.
but come on guys, at least we can ride without needing spikes.
