Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I go to the dentist every 6 months. I was terrified for years, but made the effort to get over my err phobia about 4 years ago. Have had a couple of fillings and one wisdom tooth out. It took my dentist an hour to get the tooth out. It took much drillng and pulling and digging to remove, but the price I pay is quite reasonable.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I had to have my wisdom teeth surgically removed as they were growing in near enough horizontally and my lower jaw has never been right since asi reckon they put the other teeth out of place with pressure making them prone to infection.
Had my last lower left molar out over x mas and i only have 1 on the lower right so if i can afford it i will be looking at a partial denture in the future.

A decent partial will be a 3 figure sum, depending on where the teeth are will determine cost, the further forward you get the closer to a 4 figure sum you get

I am a dentist and we are not all b******s

Can't believe how much you all pay for treatment, you should come to Scotland. Filling for a fiver!

My dentist is brilliant. I have regained my confidence and have got over my dentist phobia. She is very patient with me and is always willing to stop whatever she is doing to me at the time if i am distressed or if i have the slightest feeling of pain. 10 out of 10 for her. i felt no pain when i had a wisdom tooth out, in february.

Had problems with my upper teeth about 3 years ago. My front teeth had gradually loosened (the root cause - note the pun, was having my face shoved into some climbing bars in the scool playground many years ago) and had got to the stage when they had to come out. Out they came, and I ended up with a partial. This seemed to trigger off the loosening of my other teeth, so they all had to be removed. I am now in the situation that because my gums have shrunk i can't wear a full denture successfully. I have been to the NHS Dental Schools in Edinburgh and Glasgow and also a couple of private dentists for advice. They all say the same - the only satisfactory way forward is with implants. The NHS can't do this, so I will have to pay. The one dentist said the cost isn't too bad - the same as a small car. When asked how much he said approx £16,000. :eek:Some small car.,Well, it it might be a small car on his income. As there is no way I can afford even a fraction of the cost I am left with a denture that is apt to come out, even with a mouthful of adhesive. It is so bad that when I am at home I tend to eat without it. The days of eating food with texture are long past and eating out is a nightmare:sad:.
