Hi,
I am commuting in London since 5 years but my bike got stolen last Sunday :banghead: so I am looking for a replacement.

I had a Ridgeback Velocity 2015 and I really loved it. I preferred it to the Specialized Sirrus 2013 I had before. At this point though, I'd like to scale up a bit, adding disk brakes and possibly a carbon fork.

My budget is around £600. Other than commuting, I use the bike for casual rides during the weekend. Not convinced about a pre-owned one, not because I'm fussy, but I've never been in the second-hand market and I am not sure I'd be able to spot not-so-visible defects.

I went at Evans and of course they tried to push me towards a Pinnacle:

Looks a good bike to me: hydraulic disc brakes, carbon fork, lightweight, and I also like how it looks. I'd like to use the upcoming weekend to do a few test rides so to be able to compare between different models before taking a decision, so I'd like to ask for possible alternatives.

I really love the Giant Escape Disc 0, the 2018 model comes at a discount, but it seems it went sold out eveywhere in London: https://www.giant-bicycles.com/gb/escape-0-disc

Also, the Boardman Hybrid Team would have been a great match at a fantastic price:

Appreciate it's a couple of years old, and that's why the availability is only for the 45cm which looks really small to me (I'm 5'7).

Could you please suggest me some comparable models?

According to the Boardman guide, you’d want a 49cm

Have you checked local stores for other sizes?

How about the Whyte R7 range? Eg https://www.discountcyclesdirect.co...='Whyte Shoreditch 2016 Hybrid/Commuter Bike'

I have just bought a 45cm Boardman Team Hybrid off Cycle Republic (Halfords) and I am very happy with it so far. I am 5 feet 5 inches ...... I think you would need a 49cm.
