write to Greg (User) about it, and he will get on the case on behalf of the CTC - and he may involve Phil Benstead who is on good terms with the Royal Parks.

I'd have thought that what's done is done, but it the design is at fault the Royal Parks will take a look at it. Temperamentally they're very pro cyclist. If there's been a complaint, for example if a pedestrian has been hit by a cyclist, they're bound to make a point, but, generally, they want to increase the number of cyclists using the parks

It's not the bit I thought Gaz was referring to, btw. I thought it was the crossing to go across to Brook Street, you can see some cyclists turn off right as Gaz goes past.

I looked at the blue shared path signs on my way home last night. And they are all 30-40 feet away from the toucan crossings. I'd be surprised if the bit between the toucan and sign weren't shared paths as this is on a National Cycle Route (75 IIRC). There is also a shared path nearer my house (NR756), that has end of cycle lane markings between the sign and the end of the pavement. Surely this must also be a shared path at this point:wacko:

Naah it was the bit a lil futher along where you come out of the park by the toucan crossing to go over to marble arch, there is about 5 or so meters of pavement that is rather wide which isn't a cycle path, where as after that it is. why not extend it by 5 meters!!!

Anyway, i went to the lorry awareness thingy today, it was very good and got to sit in a nice warm lorry and watch some coppers walking around it in the rain. It's just a shame that to be made aware of it and to go to it you had to be caught doing something illegal.

I was talking to an officer, who wasn't being very helpful, about how i got my ticket and asked for some info about who i could write to in the police force about it, he didn't know. But some guy jumped in and was like " YEAH i want to COMPLAIN like this guy" a different office siad "hold on he wasn't complaining and what did you get your ticket for?" he takes a look at the ticket "aaaaah red light jumping, thats compleatly different"
:laugh: haha i nearly burst out laughing

You have to check the TRO really and even that doesn't help if other people don't know. We had a similar thing with aggressive members of the public and PCSOs telling people off (not giving tickets to) people cycling across somewhere you were allowed to cycle through but there were no signs to indicate you could.

I suppose you could try a FOI request to try and find out what motivated it, what the police know about it and where they were targetting.
