You see, my Felt S22, due to its shape isn't exactly the best bike ever designed for putting a rear light on to, so, I have bought a variety of cheap lights that fit onto the wheel or on the valve, and create a circular effect when the wheel turns at any sort of speed. The colour chosen for this, is, obviously red.

So you bought a load of cheap lights when most normal people would have bought a new bike?

I've tried the lights on the wheels a few years ago and they were useless. If you can't get a light to fit onto the seat stem then get one that will clip onto your jersey or cycle jacket.

I have two rearward lights, one of the tiny little lights strapped on to the saddle, but its tiny and not much use, and the shape of the seat post and the rest of the bike is meant to be aerodynamic, and the light manufacturers don't seen to make mounts at least that are shaped the right way (that's the main problem, not the lights themselves). Even my front light has to be mounted upside down to avoid various bits and pieces.

The second rearward facing light is on the only place I can put one, on the tubing at the rear, but becuase of the tapering shape of the tube, it has a tendency to slip down towards the chain, the gears and, most importantly, the wheel, and sooner or later it is going to get itself broken. I'd get something to stop it, but where to put it so it doesn't just slip down too? The light is also quite small in the first place to avoid potentially being hit by the wheel!

I was just looking for an alternative to this.

no ifea what shape your bike is but i find it hard to believe you cannot fit a rear lamp to the seat post - I have one, boughyt from Halfords a few years ago that has a clot strap so will clamp round any shaped seat post or tube.

The CAteye seat post mounts have a flexible strap that ought to work with aero posts. Depend on the size of the post I suppose.

You could have saved yourself some dosh by asking me
Valve lights are officially rubbish, one of mine got rusty, had to use pliers to remove it, almost brole the inner tube valve.
The other light stopped working after a month.
I paid £ 4.99 for the pair - waste of money. I only wanted them for the effect, didn't last long

Get a Smart R1 and fix it on the back on your helmet... cars can see it from miles away!

One of these little suckers or even a Knog might be what you're looking for. They fit round just about any shape and are surprisingly bright.
