Long weekend over here and straight away the locals put a smile on your face, brilliant place with so many things to do. Any locals advice gratefully received in case we miss anything.

I do a lot of work in Liverpool and I have to say their hospitality, (on the whole), is legendary :okay:

World Museum, Library, Walker Gallery. Next door to each other and each one a gem! Also the dock area.
Jump on a hop on- hop off bus to get our bearings- so much to see!

It really is a beautiful city. Remember to look up, there's a lot of great architecture that you'll miss if you don't

Go up to the Philharmonic pub, check out the toilets. No, really.

On a slightly more serious note, if you're thinking of popping over to the Wirral and you like art, have a look round Port Sunlight and the Lady Lever Gallery.

How do you know you are drinking in a Liverpool pub?

You look down and find that your trainers are gone and you are standing on a couple of bricks

As above, world museum and walker art gallery.
The new museum of liverpool down on the waterfront is good.
Ferry across the mersey to the spaceport / submarine
Tate gallery at albert dock
Philharmonic pub / toilets (as above) but plenty of other pubs,
Two cathedrals
Blue coats art center
Heading out a bit, Chester, Port Sunlight / Lady Lever art gallery, Sefton coast / Gormley statues

The Baltic Triangle is the place to be if you're feeling hip. Camp and Furnace does a sweet breakfast, The Baltic Social do some lovely local beers and is also right next to the Giant shop (bonus) and theres a newly opened place called constellation, which with the right dose of sun is a great outside space to drink and play ping pong.
