I am looking for a new pickguard

I've seen this but am wondering if anyone has any idea where I can find similar in the UK without paying an absolute fortune? I thought that with it being a greenish colour, something loud and pink-ish would work really well. Plan B is a clear one and put some funky artwork underneath.

I've got an old Vintage guitar, a strat copy. I quite like Vintage and Fret King guitars and saw this 'seafoam' green jobby in a nearby junk shop, looking a little unloved. It really only needs new strings but I haggled him down from a hideously overpriced £120 to a nice, sensible £70. Having pointed out all the dings, the fact it needs re-stringing, and that because it says 'Vintage' does not mean that it's a vintage Fender. Fenders say Fender on them
It's got new Wilkinson pickups fitted. We got it home, plugged it in and it plays really nicely. It's being restrung as I type.


Sorry about the mess in that room. It's really cluttered as our packed boxes, ready for moving are squashing in there with the guitars, music stands, music books and so on and so forth.

I use axesrus for all my guitar tinkering, usually cheaper than most other places. Haven't checked stuff for strats as I've got a tele.

I would invest in a decent set-up and fret dress to get it playable before worrying about the scratch-plate, after that maybe a coil tap and some sweet 50,s retro pups but thats just me. Anyway looks like a good buy enjoy playing it.

Some of those Vintage guitars are very nice. I was tempted at one time by one of the 335 style semis they did with p90s.
Good haggling, you got a good deal there. Sea foam green is one of my fave colours despite never owning one!
I've used axesrus and they are good. I 'updated' an old 80's squire years ago with their electrics and a new pickguard.

I've got an '89 Korean Squier Strat in a deep dark cherry red. It's gorgeous. It had been upgraded when I bought it, all Fender bits and bobs and it's just lovely. My guitar teacher loves it to bits. Always keen to play it. I've caught him stroking it on occasion

Ha, ha. Mine is a japanese one and I stripped the horrible plasticy paint off it and worse still stipped and painted the headstock. The 80's jap squires are now appreciating in value, but mine is just a player/hack. I usually use it if I play a gig in a rough pub or take it around the schools with me. It sounds great, with a trio of Humbuckers in it, it's a beast (a duncan 59 in the neck, a kent armstong in the middle and a JB in the bridge).
I'll see if I can find a decent pic.
