Didn't realise the bike thing was actually a policy, but it's a policy I have taken advantage of none the less. I've also taken my bike into my room at other hotels, including some that are a lot posher than Premier Inn.

A bit characterless but comfortable

The lack of character is partly what makes them so good - it means you know exactly what you're getting every time you stay at a Premier Inn. If I wanted character, I'd find a nice B&B or 'boutique' hotel - although I wouldn't expect such places to allow bikes in rooms.

Premier Inn's beds are excellent too, very comfortable indeed.

Just booked 3 nights in Twickenham Premier Inn in December for £101 now that I feel is a bargain.

I've never had an issue with any hotel chain and bike in the room.

Then again my bikes are always spotless:whistle:

I really rate Premier Inn hotels and they're my first choice if I'm away for work, even though I could have a more expensive option.
I'd recommend the one by Kings Cross station to anyone - super staff, air conditioned rooms and a true feast for breakfast (if that's what you want), plus it's just three minutes walk from the train.

Great for families, and the rooms are always of an excellent standard. The bloody kids complained about Hilton Blackpool recently - beds not long enough etc. etc. Rooms weren't on a par with the Premier Inn though - nothing like. Possibly the worst Hilton I've stayed in.

Never taken the bike into a Premier (or did I on the Norwich 100?, I can't remember), but as others have said, Travelodge have never have an issue with bikes in the room on the 5 or 6 times I've stayed in one.

I've just booked 3 nights in Yorkshire for Christmas for £88 for a family room. Unbelievable value and we already know we'll have a comfy bed, a clean room and a nice stay.

What single supplement? Premier Inn doesn't have one - in fact, most UK hotel chains (e.g Premier Inn, Travelodge, Days Inn) charge by the room, rather than by the number of people in it. It costs the same whether it's one or two people. They may charge more for 3+ people for breakfast...

Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to previous hotels that I had stayed in many years ago. Have never stayed in a Premier Inn.

Call it what you like, but as a lone traveller it does miff me slightly that I pay the same as a couple to occupy a similar room.

I did get a single room in Oban recently, but the single bed was not to my liking particularly as one side was stuffed against a wall.

I believe Premier Inns only have king size beds - it's part of their marketing.

I've stopped in a few Premier Inns over the years and like them, although as mentioned, lack of air con in some could be a problem.

Relaxing in a Premier Inn right now. The free wifi seems to have it's speed limited to under 0.5 Mb/s. You have to pay extra for faster speeds.

cant say i rate the one by Whitley Bay , right next to a busy rounabout and the "air con" is only a heater, you had a choice of being to warm or kept awake by traffic noise.
