I bought one when they first appeared a few years ago. It was fine until I put pannier bags on the bike, then all I could see was a pannier bag! I think they would be best on road bikes.

i took one off a bike not long ago for same reason but previous owner swore by it , he claimed it made his cycling so much safer being able to see behind

Have you tried moving it left/right/up/down? They do require a little tweaking to set up to get the sweet spot but it is well worth it when you do.

Taking into account mine is fitted to a Road bike, but I cannot see why it wouldn't work on a MTB, though as stated with touring bikes fitted with panniers I can't see them working so well.

I have one. It does take a bit of getting used to but overall it's useful.

It does take some getting used to but after finding the correct position it's helped,but there's a hidden danger in looking at it too long while taking the eyes of what's ahead.
