I don't know how this business works but I'm struggling to understand why C4 would contract to pay a lot for a show format without ensuring that the talent was firmly committed to the format. Maybe they thing they can replace with other suitable presenters?

Anyway, Paul Hollywood is in a great situation now. He's the only link to the GBBO left so can practically name his price to stay onboard. Otherwise it's just another cooking show

If the BBC want to do a rival show they are all set though, Hollywood is replaceable, surely the BBC can find another grumpy baker to fill his shoes.

Shouldn't Mel, Sue and Mary be forced not to work for the BBC? After all, we can't usually sell a business and then poach all its workers. If not, Channel 4 stuffed up.
