sites can't prevent people downloading their pictures but they can make it difficult

usual route is to view code, the url of the picture has to be there one way or another

you do nweed some knowledge of html/css though

Hi Karen,

I've uploaded one and set it as your Avatar.

You'd already added one as your Profile Picture, but that's different because it only displays when people view your profile.

The one that shows up under your name in the forums is your Avatar - so if you want to change it in future, you know which one to upload to now.

For future reference, most pics can be downloaded just by right-clicking on them, then 'save as' and put it on your desktop. If it won't let you, a longer work-around is to copy your entire desktop - including the pic you want - to clipboard (shift+PrtSc), then use an image prog to crop out just the bit you want and save that. (If you don't have one, I recommend photofiltre - it's free, it's small and it works well.)
