I don't think he is allowed to exercise any.

Trevez is someone's property, a cash machine for his owners and programmed to do their bidding.

Hey SJ - did you watch the Hammers the other night? Strong in defence, clinical, professional, organised, and utterly dull. We appear to have turned into Bolton, which is no surprise I guess.

GW - I can't disagree with a word you write. It would, of course, be wonderful if we all supported our local teams, but we're a rootless bunch these days, and, to be fair, most of us seek to identify with stuff that embodies our aspirations rather than who we are or where we come from.

Aye true enough, rootlessness is a fact of modern life. I suppose we are lucky hereabouts to be geographically rather isolated, with Norwich, and to some extent Town, having large catchment areas, so we don't tend to attract the gloryhunters (that's also because we can be rubbush of course!). I do wonder though what the true, diehard, local Man Utd fans make of all these folks from Surrey turning up each week. I probably know the answer and it's likely not to be repeatable on a family friendly board like this!

I didn't see the game but the reports I read didn't make it look pretty, apparently Brighton played an attractive passing game against our hoofball. Ron must be turning in his grave.

Pleased we won, but...

My thoughts too. Brighton played some nice football but lacked a cutting edge. Obviously, I very much want us to win promotion, but at what cost? We're never going to win the league, so the enjoyment I derive from watching us is through attractive football. If we don't have that, what do we have?

Quite right.

In the present climate the most we could hope for in the top flight is mid-table, probably with regular relegation battles thrown in. I think every West Ham fan would prefer to do that with the traditional West Ham brand of football rather than the Sunday league stuff Big Sam believes in.

Anyway, back on topic -
