So it finally happened but on my motorbike rather than pedal bike. First ever crash.
For the record i'm not crying or starting to sob I have a cold and I am in the process of losing my voice. Man card is intact

I thought that it was me braking too hard but with a few of my friends having a look they think it must have been oil or something since I lowsided halfway through already braking. I still think it was likely my combination of braking. A lesson learned.
I didn't check later for oil or anything one of the last things on my mind and it wouldn't make any difference.

Got the wind knocked out of me so it took ages for me to get up.

I spent two and a half hours in hospital getting checked out since I hit my head rather hard which is making me buy a new helmet. I got a clean bill of health with nothing serious. Just going to have aches and pains for the next few days with a sprain wrist.

The Doctor I spoke to was a want to be biker her self but she was explaining how her mum was refusing to allow her. Her brothers both had bikes and both of them had crashed. One worse than the other resulting in a few broken bones and no bike to go back to. We started talking about what bikes we wanted next and it was a good talk. She said that it just goes to show that gear does work. No road rash which is good ha.

The bike was overall fine. Just cosmetic damage. It is however a HONDA CBF so it is built like a tank.

Around £300 in damage including the new helmet and fairings. I think I am going to invest into crash protectors to minimize any future damage is I crash like this or different.

I would however like to say thanks to all the people who stopped to check on me. I feel like a dick for not saying thanks to them but it was the last thing I was thinking of.

On the plus side I got a day off work

you beat me to it! sorry i meant CBF rather than CBR!
can't really tell in vid but what happened with the fairings? at only £300 for new lid and fairings it can't be a full new front fairings and top of the range lid?
Cheers Ed

of course the CBF 125 has only minimal fairing so i guess a 'full' new front fairing might be under £300

Honda wanted to charge me £140 for new handle bars, gear shifter and indicators. Not including the fairings.
There is a person who has a honda cbf 2011 which has the parts I need in very good nick all for £128. Which is everything plus the fairings which is all the left side and the back as that shattered.

this very very cheap 2011 model not working mechanically then? sure it's not nicked?
if you have tools and knowledge to remove and fit bar, indicators, gear change and fairings etc then i would say go for it!

How bad is it and how much do you care. Google plastic welders. While you're learning you might well drop it again.

The back shattered as did the front indicator. Handle bar bent around 30 degrees on the left.
Really It does need replacing and I want my bike back to how it was. I'm funny like that, I tend to refuse to own even pedal bikes which are not in top condition. When I do have them I keep them in top condition even if I pay out to do so.
If I dropped it again then I drop it again.
What I am doing different is investing into crash protectors for the frame and front fork to try and reduce any future damage.
