Well left London Last Sunday to Newhaven, Monday morning 9am ferry to Dieppe.
Eventually arrived Thursday noon at Paris, did stop off Wednesday 12 miles outside.
My 13 year old daughter enjoyed the trip!
Loved every minute! Hard going one of the days, blood sweat, arguments you name it we had it, weather was fantastic.
Looking to plan another adventure now!

Great stuff! :bravo:

Solo trip next time? :okay:

Cycling doesn't get much better than Normandy ... just a pity it doesn't stretch all the way to Paris. But a most satisfying ride. Well done both of you. And gifting your daughter an adventure she will never forget (well perhaps a few aches but not the first sight of the Eiffel Tower?).

Wow, well done both of you - I particularly admire your daughter's efforts - well done she! Am I right in thinking you did this on your own arrangements - we're just considering a similar ride for next year, and would love to read your plans and how things turned out!

Yes, we did this all on our own back.
Sunday 24th May was a cycle to Newhaven staying at the Premier Inn, Monday we got the boat (9am) to Dieppe arriving after 4 hours great crossing. Then we cycled to Neufchatel En Bray for our next stay. This was at Hotel Du Grand Cerf.
The next day we cycled to Gisors (Hotel Moderne), this was a hard day, and led to many arguments, I think we should of broke this stage into two days as my daughter found it to be very challenging, she also got sun burnt, bless her.
Next day was to Sartrouville, stayed in Ibis at Maisons Laffitte, then Thursday cycled last 12 miles into Paris made the E. Tower at noon.
After that we stayed in Ibis by the Gard de Nord for the Eurostar Home Friday 5pm

We followed some of the directions of Donald Hirsch, but found the Book Avenue Verte much better. It is all sign posted and really is enjoyable. Can not wait to do it again.

That's great MiB, thanks for the info! We're looking at at the Avenue Verte books now, sounds really exciting!
I think that your daughter did amazingly well, 120km on that 'arguing' day is unbelievable! How were the cycle facilities overnight - we'll have a tandem with us, and will probably cycle back as I don't think we can put a Tandem on the Eurostar!
