One of those flourescent belts I mean.
I was fitting my bike out with lights at about 3 this morning for my even increasing noctournal runs, but due to the shape of my bike (TT bike with streamlined tubes, so everything is longer than normal), fitting a rear light was going to be quite difficult. Also I couldn't find the specific lights I was looking for.
So, after a while, I just decided to go for the less dignified approach of using one of the belts that I found in the bottom of a box, and slinging it over my shoulder. It is an orange/red one (which contrasted nicely with my white AGR2 jersey).
What's more, it seemed to work, but I have now found the lights I was originally looking for earlier and I can get them clipped onto me as well. I might just keep the belt in my pocket anyway just in case though (that said I also have umpteen hi - vis vests, mostly for railway use that I could also have in the pocket).
I Don't think I've EVER actually used one of these belts. Certainly not within the last 20 years anyway!!
They were never the epimome of cool, even as a kid.
