I had a nice ride out on the Chimera yesterday and pedalled up to Darlington via Wetherby, Boroughbridge, Ripon, Bedale and Northallerton. I spotted a couple of new pie shops worthy of investigation at Bedale and Moreton on Swale. I'd have dropped in on them but I already had eight pies in my pannier bought from Greenwoods in Boroughbridge. Another time - not to far away will do.
I've managed to complete five, one hundred kilometer audaxes completed since the beginning of February and although I've still to match the pace of rides completed in 2010, I've done three times the distance completed in 2011. It looks like I'll have to revise upwards, my mycyclinglog target.
I've booked my place on the York - Hull FNRttc in April with a few more being considered.
Some of my cycle kit is too big for me now. My shorts won't stay up without assistance.
My first tour of the year is likely to take place at Easter. It could well be the Way of the Roses route.
I'm about to book a ferry to Amsterdam for my summer tour - Passau to Budapest. A wild night or two in Amsterdam on the way out and on the way back will be an integral part of the tour as will a hydrofoil trip from Budapest to Vienna.
My cycling mojo has well and truly returned.
