I asked for some advice the other week about lights to see with and not just to be seen. Thanks to those who gave advice, but some of those lights were very expensive. I went into Halfords yesterday, they had one that was quite powerful, according to the box. They didn't have a demo model so i wasn't risking 50 quid for this flimsy looking object that might be inadequate. However i nipped across the road to TK maxx to see what they had there. Not much in the way of cycle lights, they were all cheap but underpowered, so i bought one of these instead http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/330747805633?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&cbt=y
With a bit of D.I.Y bracket making i'll have a very powerful light for(reduced in price) less than 6 quid! I taped it to the front reflector to try it on my pub trip last night and it was shall we say eye catching. It has a very powerful to slightly less powerful setting as well as a flash mode. The ground was well illuminated in front of me, and all the car number plates and street signs lit up way ahead as i approached. I looked at the light given off by pointing the bike at a shop window, and i'm impressed!:sun:

Any pics of how you rigged it?

I haven't sorted it out yet, but what i intend to do is superglue or drill a small hole and bolt the light to an old flat sided bracket that i have. Ok i'll have to unscrew the bracket when i want to swap from one bike to another, or just take the light off when i'm doing daylight cycling, but that takes less than a minute.
Honestly when i saw the light i thought "well for 6 quid if it's naff i'll just take it back and say that it's faulty", but i'm made up as they say!:hyper:I was looking at 200 quid lights and ok they'll be superb light givers, but this is more than adequate!
