to tell my fellow CC'ers that this sometime forum lurker, sporadic forum poster, general question asker and debate joiner inner, is going to become a daddy for the very first time in roughly 8 weeks time...i've not yet started to panic but have, in the past few days begun to have the dawning realisation that life is never going to be the same again:eek: that is all i have to say on this topic for now :highfive:

Sleep now whilst you can, for it will be a rare luxury in 8 weeks time. Have fun and we'll see you back here when bambino is 4 years old :biggrin:

As long as I breathe, I attack.
sleep, everybody is talking about sleep...babies sleep too...right?
Depends on the individual child, my second one slept through the night after a few months but number one Phew ! it was every 3-4 hours it was feed time but by the time you got a bottle down and settled you were getting maybe 2 hours sleep at a time and i had been known to fall asleep at work even if i was not doing the feed you were woken up .
Get sleep and cycling in because you will need them, forget serious riding untill they are old enough not to want to be with you or you have a very understanding partner who thinks that going for a bike ride is more important than playing with kids , helping them to read, cleaning up, etc etc etc .
Don`t get me wrong i love my kids and i would not swap them for anything , i mean i would have to pay someone to take them off me

OOh and congrats and best wishes to the upcoming family .

Babies sleep when you are awake, then babies want feeding or changing or burping or want to play or too hot or too cold or teething or scared to sleep alone or want a cuddle or pee in the bed or get woken by noises......... Just as you want to sleep after a long day at work!!!!
Commuter cycling will be your only sanctuary - but drink a strong coffee 20 mins before riding and keep the windows open for ventilation :hehe
