Hugs :hugs:Saluki.
Sorry to read this. Try phoning the shop tomorrow: cleaning staff might have found your purse.

its awful when your purse goes missing at the best of times but when its got your savings in, its the pits. Have a good cry but try not to get depressed. You have a long life and this is just a blip. Sometimes bad shoot happens and sometimes good shoot happens. Borrow 2 quid and buy a lottery ticket x

Chin up pal cause the mighty Uncle Karma will sort them out.
I am pretty sure that is very true. I am a big believer in what comes around goes around.
Feeling a little less upset today, also someone has rung and wants my woodburner and the double skinned flue so I might be replacing my savings sooner than I thought.
Will take that money to the shop, in husbands wallet which lives deep deep in his front pocket. A thief would need arms like Mr Tickle to get that.

You never said your flue was double skinned! If I'd only known..

Mind you is it the right diameter for this part of Europe? Hope you get a good deal anyway.

There were only us and one other customer in the shop, plus 2 members of staff and I cannot believe that it would have been one of them as we know them quite well.

Was the other customer known quite well?

The folks in the shop didn't recognise him. We've not seen him before but we don't actually live in that shop, contrary to popular belief amongst our mates.
Flue is a double flue to fit a 5" flue hole

If I can get £300 for the lot, I will be quite happy with that.

I have had a sofa day and watched back to back stuff that I was clogging up my skybox dodah with. There might have been some apple pie and custard involved too. Feeling less miserable now.

Woodburner sold (for £5 more than I paid for it, not sure how that happened) so I can go back to the shop tomorrow and come home with a new toy.

Just back from my Friday lesson and I now feel a whole lot better.
I feel that I can now move forward again and a whole lot less miserable. Friday lessons do that.

Well done for feeling better about the whole thing...it's a horrible feeling when this sort of thing happens because you never asked to feel hateful about someone or depressed about something. This happened to me earlier in the year in slightly different circumstances and it makes you feel rotten, so fair bloody play Saluki for feeling better. Move on. Bitterness and depressing thoughts only harm you more in the end.

All the best and chin up some more.

How awful Saluki, I hope it wasn't a large amount of money. Could someone have crept in through a side door? I hope you have reported it.

It's really hard not to take something like this personally, but it was probably just a random opportunistic theft - most of them are. When my car was stolen I felt personally very hurt, as if someone had targeted me, but they really hadn't.
I think that what the police consider 'petty crime' can have a deep personal impact on people. My satnav was stolen from my car whilst parked on my drive a few years ago and it really upset me. one or two other 'petty crimes' have happened to me since and its hard not to let them build up into a loss of faith in society/

Chin up @Saluki, it's horrible that you're having a bit of a down time at the minute, but your cyclechat friends are right behind you don't forget. Have you sorted out all the necesserry practical things like cancelling cads etc?
