Nice bike .

That looks like the defy one. I bought mine about 5 weeks ago and bought slime inner tubes and replacement tyres straight away thinking i'd change them both as soon as i got a puncture in either. 400 miles or so later i still have the originals on, no problems with them at all except i've had to top up the air occasionally.

Gaint PR3 tyres are bomb proof. I commute every day on them and have been over some pretty poor surfaces and not one naughty p! They are pretty heavy but cheap so perfect for commuting on ^_^.

I haven't even found anything poking out of them or a hole where something semi successfully tried to embed itself. I bought gatorskins as the replacement, do you think i should change them anyway? I don't commute, i only ride for fun or to get my lazy ass up off the chair and internet.

Ran stock tyres for almost a year with only 1 p visit in 1300 miles. Problem free combo imo

Ok cheers, I'll see if I can find out for definite.

How does the new bike compare? (Very nice btw)

Okay firstly my Cube is on a triple and I was talked into getting the Giant on a compact. Now the Hills around here are pretty steep but short burst can see me on top of them on a compact (not done the horseshoe pass yet on it). The Giants about the same weight but seems to flex and respond better, though I feel the Cube is better built. They're both mainly 105, the Cube does have a few Ultegra bits, I feel the Giants smoother.
Still early days and I'm lucky enough to have the option for the days ride
