... will I die? Will my friends disown me? Will all my hair fall out? Will I end up voting Tory?

I gave up on the Grauniad long ago. Once the Aged P left home I could no longer read his Times which he gets on subscription. The Indy has gone downhill and seems to get thinner by the day.

So, drawn by the sports coverage, I've taken to buying the Telegraph. The Saturday version weighs a ton and has hours of reading in it, and, generally speaking, they seem to stick to the old formula of reporting the news and then commenting on it rather than just commenting and thus making themselves the news.

it's good for farming accidents. Every time a farmer gets crushed by a tractor, or drowns in a slurry pit, it makes the front page. The fashion isn't so hot - hard to believe that Alexandra Schulman used to write for them.

aaaarggggh ! Nigel flippin' Slater.

The leftovers in that mans fridge put my local deli to shame. No wonder he can knock up a quick feast from "bits 'n pieces".

Not that I buy it but we get the Saturday Telegraph.

I always bought the Independent until it went bad.
We get the Saturday Telegraph and most of it goes to recycling without being read. It's still our household paper but I have to say I'm increasingly moving to the 20p 'i' which gives me a reasonable snapshot of all that's important and a crossword I can do.

The grauniad was just too earnest, we did try.

It's a right of passage into middle age. I succombed in my early 40s and enjoy the righteous indignation as much as the sport coverage!

You're kiddin' right? I can see the video now.
