so, I'm sitting in The Babe's office and she's doing this stuff, like conference calls and shopping all at once. It's a medium sized office with a desk, and bookshelves and a sofa and a couple of cabinets and computers and a printer and stuff including a large shredder.

So, I'm sitting on the sofa and, for some reason I say 'gosh, Susie, your legs are looking great!' As you do. And, the second I say this, the shredder whirs in to action all of its own accord. Nobody touches a switch or presses a button. It just goes 'whirrrrrr'.

Collapse of not-so-stout parties.

Have any of you started machines by sheer force of will or passion or whatever?

We never leave our shredder switched on in auto mode, when not in use. Too much risk of some stray item (e.g. part of someone's clothing) finding their way into the slot.

Time for a H&S risk assessment...

We have a Homer Simpson talking bottle opener that speaks when used to open metal tops. It lies unused for most of the time on our kitchen worktop. Every few days, it spontaneously says "AAAHH BEER...MY ONE WEAKNESS...."

I was lying in bed the other night and suddenly heard my son's story tape start of its own accord and heard Tigger's voice sounding very Tiggerish. He was fast asleep when we went in so no idea how it started up.

'Ere you, that 661 person. I is a male, a man, a person of the testosterone order. Me legs is also of that general type. I 'as never interfered with a shredder in me life. :becool:
I was talking of "the Babe" - sorry I didn't realise that it's DZ's pet name for you.....

I caused a song to come on the radio once and what's more, it was synchronised to me singing it!

I found myself singing "I will Survive" and decided that I'd like to listen to some background music while I worked. I switched the radio on and found myself perfectly sync'd to Gloria Gaynor!

I was in my attic bedroom/office with all the doors and windows closed. I couldn't hear music coming from anywhere else, so it wasn't as though I overheard somebody else's radio first.

Spooky!

I was singing the theme from Casino Royale (the 1967 version) on my way home from the pub once.

As I collapse on the sofa and switched on the TV, it had just started

I have a very old White Van. Years ago, the battery packed up and I replaced it. This left no power to the clock which continued to indicate the wrong month, wrong day, and wrong time for about six years. I gave the motor a jump start a year ago, and the clock started up in all respects accurate to the minute. Odd that.
