.... I had to express my frustration and resentment somehow. I am so angry at the loss of a good work collegue to cancer at the week end. I have known her since 1985 and just found out she died yesterday.
Will we ever beat that bastard decease?

Will we ever beat that b****** decease?

It is getting there, quite a few types of Leukaemia can now be controlled/cured by drugs such as Kinase Inhibitors for example.

Other types though, depending on where it is on the body etc are, understandably more difficult to treat and there will be a long way before they are all treatable/preventable, short of sometimes quite brutal and potentially disabling surgery.

My dad was one of 11children. So far, him, his parents and 8 siblings have died of different forms of it. I'm guessing I won't be any different some day, so trying to make the most of it while I'm here! Some of them had decent inningses, some didn't. Comiserations on your friend, anyway.

I'm sorry for you loss.

I lost my best friend to kidney cancer 8 years ago. I also lost a very dear client, who loved my furniture work, to cancer a few years ago. My Dad lost his best friend to lung cancer back in the early 80's.
