I know what times I will be commuting, are they safe?

Monday will be in the morning (so no real problem). However, Tuesday is 9am till 8pm.

Not only will I be tired from the day, but I will have to cycle home in the dark on a traffic free promenade route along a shared use path.
Is it safe to do this or should I just go on the road? I dont mind going on the road to go home as I am not in a rush but is there going to be dodgey people about at this time?

Only you know the area. No should be fine - get some decent lights as some sections may not be lit. Also weather - if it's rough seas or icy, stick to the road.

I use the Trans Pennine some times on the Commute at night, and most scallies don't know what's coming.

....if your previous posts are anything to go by - no! But I'm sure we'll all get to see the video footage < - - - - JOKE

We have people on here that manage to commute every day in rush hour traffic without a scratch and others that somehow manage to attract 'incidents' in the middle of the countryside. As Fossyany says - get the right kit and adapt your riding to fit the conditions.

Good luck with the commuting, I know you've been looking forward to it for quite a while.

Is it a cycle route along side the road or is it hidden from view?
I commute at some very strange times of day but stay on road once the sun goes down, tonight for instance I'll be coming home at 1.30am, not a time to be hanging about or cutting through any dark alleys
At that time the roads should be a lot quieter anyway, and progress should be swifter

I'm finishing work at 8pm next week so will need the lights for the first time since April. It'll be ok, it's perfectly safe apart from all the Goddamn vampires.

Bus lanes in Rhyl. Don't be daft.

Rhos is nice to cycle through. Rhyl sea front should be safe as its well lit. Oh just watch the stupid cycle lane in Rhos, you will be lamp post dodging. Stick to the road there

I would only be going that way if I was using the cycle track (which will be in the mornings).

Rhos has a few nice hills on the main road and a large 300ft one at the end. Rhyl's parade road is indeed lit at night, and I would probably go along there in the morning as well (probably quicker than avoiding peds).
