I don't know how many of you get technical info from Sheldon Brown's web pages, but sadly he has passed away.

I'm assuming it was health related as he was suffering from ill health. I've used Sheldon's pages many times, and one of my proud boasts has been that he put up an article on mine on his web site, which I was honoured by. I had the good fortune to communicate with him (as I'm sure many thousands of other people) and he was a true gentleman, and will be sadly missed.

Very sad news indeed. His website was both informative and irreverent, he will be sadly missed by the cycling communities of many nations.

He had a damn fine beard too. I loved his April Fool pages and the bike advice stuff was pretty good too...

A great shame, he was a gentleman. I once emailed him with a technical query and he replied within hours and was very helpful.

Sadly missed, a true eccentric and we could do with a few more of those.
