I love it and I love my job. I also have two wonderful kids, a wife whose far too good for me and pretty good health... At least I realise how lucky I am...
Recently suffered a knee problem that kept me off the bike for six weeks - the upside was I really realised just how much I...LOVE cycling - and the commute is oddly the ride I love most. Somehow the fact that it's part of what I have to do makes it better than my self indulgent weekend blasts on the "good" bike.
I'm back on the commute tomorrow (Tues) after a couple of months. Looking forward to it soooo much, even though it is 6 miles further each way than before I moved house.
I'm the luckiest commuter ever. Work is 1.8 miles away, I have to ride along the cycle way along side Poole quay, then through the park, then I'm at work. If I want to extend, there's 15 miles of cycle way in one direction, and about 20 in the other!
The only thing I get sometimes is a strong westerly headwind on the way home, but I'll put up with that!
Not only do I enjoy my ride to and from work but I generally get to spend most of my working day on a Bike too...Bit knackered by the end of the week though!
Couldn't agree more! I'll never get bored of cycling to work. I assume I'm not the only person who has consistently moved further away from the work place, in order to increase the time on my bike. I think 10 miles each way is about right, but maybe I'll consider 15...
