Just started commuting last week (only 3 days). I must say I did smile allot (most of the time). I am actually disappointed that I am tied up in meetings this coming week which will mean only one day on the bike.

I couldn't agree more, jonny jeez . A lucky few (pathetically small percentage of all commuters, really) over here in DownUnder also know we're on to a good thing. I suspect the real reason some motorists get so annoyed at us is because somewhere deep down they know we're enjoying cycling, and they feel excluded, the poor dears

Spot on. I think they know that we don't really have to cycle rather then we want to and to want to means we must enjoy it.
