I love the snow

I'm getting a bit tired of washing and lubing the bike every evening though.

I'm staying off the roads as much as possible, as washing it will cause a freeze up.

I do have to say, the roads were pleasingly quiet the last couple of days, although the number 5 bus still felt the need to pull across me into the bus stop, just as it does every morning. Snow cycling was a new experience for me and I liked it, I also looked extra hardcore to the staff at placement when I said I'd cycled in when the other students hadn't made it in at all.
I saw several cyclists of various flavours out and about and don't recall anyone in A+E having come off a bike.

I lean it against a radiator after. I can't get more than about 2/3 rds of the way to work by only riding off-road, haven't actually tried it since it snowed- maybe if there's some fresh stuff next week I will.

Not so nice now as it's changed to ice.I nearly slipped ar53 over bawlocks yesterday while wheeling my bike up an icy pavement near my house.The road was like a skating rink also.

Heavy snow forecast for the South, Midlands and East on sunday. No club ride, again .

Been riding in carefully all week without incident but very glad it is the weekend now.
I nearly fell twice on the way home due to ice on the previously very clear main roads and wheel spinning while trying to cross roads is scary.

We've got sleet forecast all weekend which I doubt will clear any of the ice. Follow that up with grit rationing in the county and I think walking and bus may be on the cards next week. B)

Twas snowing a short while ago when I went outside to fetch a few logs and coals from the shed and bunker. Thermometer indicated -5C. Another cold one.
