Hello,
My introduction to cycling is fairly recent. My wife is a keen cyclist and completed a self supported LEJOG a couple of years ago. I think she probably enjoyed the many months of research and route planning as much as the journey itself.
Me, I'm new to cycling ( I have one of my wife's hybrid bikes in the shed but never really enjoyed my few trips out on it )
That changed recently with my purchase of a 2nd hand Brompton. It was with trepidation that I set of round the block to try it out and it seems that I took to it like a duck to water. I've only been out half a dozen times so far, but each trip I have come back with a smile on my face.
As an aside, I've always admired the engineering side of the Brompton, and several times said to my wife that I would buy one just to hang on the wall as an Artwork :-)

I've joined these forums after lurking for a few months, I've found them to be both interesting and informative.
